What should I do if my share link is leaked?
First, here's a quick overview of the two modes for Encrypted Shares:Separated Mode (default) The share link and Share Key are independent. The recipient must have both the link and the Share Key to decrypt and access the content. The link is a plain URL, and the Share Key is provided separately. For extra security, we recommend sending the link and Share Key through different channels.Combined Mode The Share Key is embedded directly in the share link (in the format URL#Key). Anyone with the link can access the content immediately without entering a separate key. This is convenient for sharing with trusted recipients, but extra care should be taken to prevent the link from being leaked. If you suspect a leak:
- In Separated Mode, a leaked link alone is not sufficient to access the content — the recipient still needs the Share Key, so this is relatively safe.
- In Combined Mode, anyone with the link can access the content directly. A leaked link means the content may be viewed by unintended parties.
Regardless of the mode, immediately go to Vault > Share and delete the affected share to invalidate it instantly.
