Do I need to keep my own backups of files stored in the Vault?

Yes, we strongly recommend maintaining independent local backups.
Vault files are stored on PikPak's compliant cloud servers, but data deletion inside the Vault is absolute and irreversible — whether files are actively deleted by you, permanently emptied from the recycle bin, or erased as a result of account deletion, they will be permanently wiped from PikPak's servers and cannot be recovered by any technical means.
Additionally, due to Zero-Knowledge Encrypted Storage, PikPak cannot decrypt or recover any files on your behalf. Please do not rely on the Vault as your sole storage location for important data.
