Are shared files secure?

As long as you manage your Share Key carefully, the content of shared files is highly secure. Without the Share Key, no one — including PikPak — can cryptographically access the content.Vault Encrypted Shares are designed with strong security in mind:

  • Each share generates a new, unique share link and Share Key, completely unrelated to any other shares. This means that even if one share is compromised, your other shares remain unaffected.
  • In Separated mode, the recipient must have both the share link and the Share Key to decrypt and access the content. Intercepting the link alone is cryptographically insufficient to access anything.
  • You can delete any share at any time in Vault > Share, immediately revoking access. Once deleted, the link becomes invalid even if others still have it.
  • You can set an expiry date for each share. Once expired, the link becomes invalid automatically, giving you time-based access control over your shared content.

Together, these features ensure that as long as you keep your Share Key secure and only share it with trusted recipients, your shared files remain protected.
