What happens if my storage usage exceeds the quota?
When your total storage usage exceeds the quota of your current account, your account will enter the Excess Usage Status. In this status:
- You will be temporarily unable to upload files, create new cloud download tasks, or save new files through any other means.
- You can still access and manage your existing files.
- If you are a non-Premium user, 7 days after your Premium expires, you will not be able to stream videos online, and the speed of downloading files to your local device will be reduced to 100KB/s. This restriction does not apply to Premium users.
If your account remains in the Excess Usage Status for more than 4 months, we will send you multiple reminders via email and in-app notifications during a 2-month grace period. Therefore, you will have a total of 6 months (including the grace period) to manage your files to bring your storage usage within the quota, or to repurchase additional storage quota.
All feature restrictions will be automatically lifted once you bring your storage usage within the quota by purchasing Premium, buying additional storage quota, or managing your files.
Your files will remain safe during this period. Only if the Excess Usage Status is not resolved after 6 months, the system will automatically delete the files that exceed your storage quota in the subsequent 15 to 30 days, sorted by the files' modification time from oldest to newest. This deletion process is performed automatically by the system, and deleted data cannot be recovered.
Please understand that these adjustments are made to enable PikPak to continuously provide you with high-quality, stable, and reliable services in the long run. This is our team’s ongoing commitment.
Note: The above rules will officially take effect on March 1, 2026, and the calculation of relevant processing time will start from this date.
